FROM NORTH TO SOUTH

Day 1 – PISA

Cross the Italian border to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.With a 13 – foot discrepancy between top and bottom,the tower as been shifting in the soil since its creation in 1173.

Day 2 – FLORENCE

A local guide introduces The Duomo,Ghiberti’s Bapistry doors,the tiny shops of Ponte Vecchio,and Michelangelo’s David in the Accademia.

Day 3 – ASSISI – ROME

Step inside the beautiful basilica of St.Francis and study Giotto’s famous frescoes that depict the saint’s life.Travel to Rome for a walking tour of the Trevi Fountain,Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona.

Day 4 – ANCIENT ROME

Join a local guide and follow in the footsteps of ancient Romans as they cheered gladiators in the Colosseum,listened to philosophers at the Roman Forum and walked proudly under the Arch of Constantine toward Trajan’s Column.

Day 5 – VATICAN

This morning visit the Vatican,the Sistine Chapel and St.Peter’s Basilica.Take an optional excursion to Tivoli,to see the Villa D’Este and the Emperor Hadrian’s Villa.

Day 6 – POMPEII – CAPRI EXTENSION

Opt to extend your stay by travelling to Pompeii for a guided tour of this ancient Roman city left remarkably well – preserved after being buried by a catastrophic eruption of Mt.Vesuvius in 79 AD.Cross the blue waters of the Bay of Naples set against the shadow of Mt.Vesuvius to Capri.Return for an evening in the Sorrentine Peninsula and return home the following day.
