UMBRIA AND TUSCANY BEAUTIES
Day 01:
PerugiaArrival in a farm situated in a formidable panoramic position, commanding the "Green Umbria" in perfect harmony with the landscape. In the surrounding woods, that is a fauna reserve, you can admire and photograph many kinds of animals in their natural environment like fallow deer, wild boars, pheasants, grey partridge and hares. Torre Burchio farmhouse is dated back to the 1880th and has been completely renewed, keeping its original characteristics. Dinner and overnight at the farm.
Day 02: Perugia
After breakfast, beginning of the first lesson in the kitchen. This two-hour lesson will start making the typical pasta of the region. Every person has a wooden plank and all the necessary ingredients. Following the movements and the explanations of the cook who repeats the same procedure in front of you, you will prepare the pasta that, at the end of the class, you can taste with your lunch. After lunch free time for an optional half day tour of Assisi. Dinner and overnight at the farm.
Day 03: Perugia
After breakfast, 2nd lesson in the kitchen, with two hours of lesson in which you can learn how to cook "sauces". Using a wooden plank, you can prepare sauces with precious kind of mushrooms such as "porcini" and truffles or pork sausages and stracchino-cheese. Both sauces, whipped when cold, can be used whether as seasoning for pasta or as seasoning or golden toasted rolls. At the end of the class, you can eat and tasted your lunch. Free time in Perugia for shopping or sightseeing. Dinner and overnight.
Day 04: Perugia/Florence
After breakfast, two hours of lesson in which you can learn how to cook "vegetables". You'll learn to make eggplant with tomato that can be served as hors-d'oeuvre and vegetables with potatoes, tomatoes, onions that will be cooked in an oven. After the lesson, enjoy a lunch based on what you've prepared. Departure for Florence. Dinner and overnight at Villa Casagrande that is a palazzo built in the 13th century for a very influential Florence. Over the years, the villa has been a gathering place for great artists and philosophers. Today Villa Casagrande remains a precious jewel, full of art treasures, paintings, frescoes and sculptures.
Day 05: Florence
After breakfast, two-hour lesson where you can learn how to cook "Tuscany dishes". This lesson could include dishes such as "pappa la pommodoro" (Tuscan first course with bread and tomatoes) and Tuscan cake with grapes. Lunch with the menu prepared by the participants. After lunch free time for an optional tour of Florence. Dinner and overnight in villa.
Day 06: Florence
Breakfast and end of services.
