RELAX TOUR 3 - SOUTH ITALY
Day 1
Join at the airport and depart on your flight to Naples. On arrival transfer to your hotel on the Sorrento Peninsula for a three night stay on a half board basis.
Days 2 & 3
Free to relax and enjoy our optional excursion programme.
- Herculanuem A half day tour to this ancient city which was destroyed when nearby Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD covering the town in a sea of mud. Although not as well known as Pompeii, Herculaneum is better preserved with a large number of buildings having survived with their roofs intact, and many artefacts were preserved by the mud.
- Amalfi Drive A three-quarter day scenic tour featuring a drive along the simply stunning coastline, visiting the delightful towns of Positano and Amalfi.
Day 4
Today we leave the Sorrento Peninsula travelling south through the regions of Basilicata and Calabria before catching the ferry across to Messina on the island of Sicily. On arrival, transfer to your hotel in the Taormina area for a four night stay on a half board basis.
Days 5 to 7

- Taormina A half day tour taking the cable car up to this spectacularly located resort, situated at the top of a sheer cliff with panoramic views over the sea and Mount Etna.
- Valley of the Temples A three-quarter day visit to one of the world’s major Greek archaeological sites dating back to the 6th Century BC. Of the nine temples remaining, the most impressive is the ‘Temple of Concord’.
- Syracuse & Ortigia Island A fascinating full day tour to Syracuse, where we explore the old town of Ortigia, set on a peninsula linked to the rest of the town by a bridge. Ortigia is home to the island’s oldest Doric temple, the Temple of Apollo and we’ll also see the Greek Theatre, a 5th Century BC relic carved out of solid rock.
