SORRENTO COOKING TOUR

DAY 1 – NAPLES, ITALY – SORRENTO

Upon arrival at the Naples Airport, we will be met by our Tour Hostess who will assist us in transferring to the Hotel in beautiful Sorrento. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to relax and familiarize ourselves with our sourrondings. This evening, we will join our Tour Hostess for an orientation meeting prior to a”Welcome Drink”and dinner at our hotel. Overnight.

DAY 2 – AGRICULTURAL FARM, SORRENTO

After breakfast at our hotel, we will meet with our Tour Hostess for an morning walking tour of Sorrento’s Old Town section and a visit to the Correale Museum. Lunch is at our hotel. This afternoon, we accompany our Tour Hostess to an agricultural farm for first cooking lesson which will end with and evening meal of today’s prepared dishes. Overnight at our hotel.

DAY 3 – CAPRI:

Today, following breakfast at our hotel, our Tour Hostess will assist our transfer to the Port of Sorrento where we will board the ferry for the scenic crossing to one of the most renowned islands in the world – The Isle of Capri. Aboard our private minibus, we will visit the Gardens of Augustus with their magnificent view of the”Faraglioni Rocks”. We will also have some time for shopping and relaxation around the famous”Piazzetta”. Along our way, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Late in the afternoon, we will return to the mainland, via ferry, to an agricultural farm for another cooking lesson followed by dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 4 – POMPEII, ARICULTURAL FARM

Following breakfast, we will join with our Tour Hostess for the drive to the famous archeological site of the Ancient ruins of Pompeii which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. We will return to our hotel in Sorrento in time for lunch. This afternoon, we will return to the agricultural farm for our third cooking lesson. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 – AMALFI DRIVE – POSITANO – RAVELLO

After breakfast, we are off on a wonderful full – day along one of the most scenic coastlines in the world – The Amalfi Drive. Our first stop will be the breathtaking view above the village of Positano, the gem of this coast which has been frequented from time immemorial by poets and artists from all over the world. Next, we will stop in Amalfi, the ancient marine republic, where we will see the Cathedral of St. Andrew and the Arsenals, the site where the fast gallery ships which transported spices and goods to and from the Orientwere constructed. Then, we will visit the town of Scala, where we will pause for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, our tour will take us to the beautiful village of Ravello. Ravello’s lovely gardens and fine architecture are in stark contrast to the ruggedness of the surrounding landscape. Return to our hotel in Sorrento for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 – NAPLES – AGRICULTURAL FARM

This morning, after breakfast at our hotel, we will join our Tour Hostess for a guided panoramic sightseeing tour of the Partenopean capital of Naples!Some of the fascinating sites we will see are: Posillipo, Via Caracciolo and Mergellina, Castel dell’Ovo, Maschio Angioino, The Galleria Umberto, The San Carlo Opera House, The Royal Palace and The Piazza Plebiscito. We will return to our hotel in Sorrento for lunch before returning to the agricultural farm for our fourth and final cooking lesson. Dinner and overnight.
